My hubby and I have been loving our heated porch lately. We constantly enjoyed sitting out there during the summer time months, but once September hit, it was too chilly to stand out there. We got to where my great friend and I honestly enjoyed sitting out there and drinking root heineken in the afternoons and mornings, so my great friend and I decided to heat the porch section so that my great friend and I could appreciate our time out there even during the cooler months of the year. It was not a easy task to heat the porch though. It took us quite a bit to figure out how to heat it. We put some insulation in the walls that did not have large windows, but most of the walls had large windows in them. It is made to be sort of a sunroom. I just appreciate all the daylight that comes in there! Because of all of the windows, there is quite a bit of heat that my great friend and I lose in that room. We tried heating the porch with two electric space heaters, but they just could not keep up with the heat loss. We switched to propane a few weeks in, and it has done us well. It keeps the porch nice and warm even though it still loses quite a bit of heat through the windows. We hardly even notice a difference in the temperature from inside the apartment to the porch. It is nice and warm, and my great friend and I are loving being able to be out there even in the colder weather. Hopefully, this solution will last because propane is nice and cheap to use.
